Progressive Parking Rates Implementation is Socialized in Three LocationsAccording to him, the priority discussion was about the application of higher parking rates or disincentives for private vehicles that did not meet several prerequisites, such as failing the emission test, not paying taxes, etc. It referred to Gubernatorial Regulation number 31/2017 on parking service rates organized by UP Parking.
"To make changes in handling transportation problems, parking becomes an instrument of traffic control. So there needs to be adjustments in terms of regulations and the amount of tariffs that will be issued," he said.
Through this meeting, he could get comprehensive input. Thus the arrangement of parking services and fees was complete, as it had received input from all elements of society, parking managers, as well as observers and experts who are in charge of this.
Parking Management Unit Head, Adji Rusambarto explained it was the second time. Similar meeting had also been held at the Housing Agency Office on February 5, 2020.
"We're going to apply the highest parking rate for vehicles that have not paid vehicle taxes or emission tests. This year we will apply it in six different locations in Jakarta," he stressed.
He added those six locations were Interkon Plaza, Park and Ride Kalideres, Mayestik Market, Ruas Jalan Mangga Besar, Jalan Denpasar dan Jalan Boulevard Raya. The off-street and on-street parking locations that this policy had implemented were in IRTI Monas parki
ng lot, Blok M Square and West Jakarta Samsat Building.
